Travel Tips
Here are all the things I learned on my many travels that will help you from learning the hard way.
Packing
Check the typical weather for the time of year you are visiting. Bring as little clothes as you can get away with and try to think of the activities you will be doing. Pack items that don't take up a lot of space but still do the job (i.e. windbreakers instead of jackets).
Money
Alert your credit card companies that you will be traveling. Better yet, get a good travel credit card. They wave international conversion fees and offer a variety of benefits.
mobile phone
Call your cell phone provider and work out a deal so you can use your phone abroad.
passport
Always make a copy of your passport and store the original in a safe/separate place.
flights
Get to the airport at least 2 hours before an international flight. Don’t use airport porters. They typically don’t work for the airline and they will want your money. You do not want to get into a fight with the locals.
language
Try to learn some of the local language, not everyone speaks English. Weird I know…
security
Don’t trust your stuff lying around anywhere. If you can’t see it or get to it quickly, it will walk away.
